Just like a tank only smaller ![]()
Still got to finish the turret mounting off, it runs on the rollers ok but has not got anything to hold it down yet.
Other problem I now have is it doesn't fit the trailer width now, so I will have to either flair the sides of the trailer top or sell it and buy a purpose made argo trailer with some of the money I get for the old one.
Having said that this trailer looks too small and it says 9' x 5' my tank with tracks is 1550mm so 1" too wide. So looks like more work for me, I think it will fit as you can see in the picture but its damn hard to do on your own ![]()

Just like the Sherman in Kellys Heroes this tank can go faster in reverse than it can forwards the way oddball had modded it,
Steve.D

I see the new Company of Heroes game is to have Tetrarch Tanks in it.
"Finally, the Royal Commandos can call in glider-borne troops, and the nimble but lightly armored Tetrarch tank. If you thought paratroopers were cool, wait until you call in a glider, see it crash-land, and disgorge a Tetrarch or Commando Squad; gives new meaning to the term "Death from Above."

Hi,
I saw your videos on youtube and I have got to say it is spectacular. I am totally inspired. I was looking for a small vehicle, Fox or Haflinger but they are all problematic in terms of restoration cost etc. Now I know I need to use an argo based kit.
Can you tell me how much you paid for the argo and what problems or costs there are in terms of bits breaking/ wearing out/ tyre, etc. Also, can you make them road legal and where do you use the tank (I notice you are fairly local to me)?
I am just looking into ww2 airsoft and have been skirmishing at Alpha 55 and Spartan Milsim in Wales in modern kit so far. My thoughts were for a universal (bren) carrier though the bogeys would look very wrong and it would need the tracks (though did I read the post wrong or can you get them for £600 -£700)? Swapping sides I thought a scaled down sdkfz232 8Rad would be sort of lookeylikey?
Anyway, first qs are getting a running argo as the base so any help would be appreciated. Also where people are running these scaled down and real vehicles as it would be fun to watch.

Nice job Oddball!
How well do those tyres grip the tracks?
Have you considered incorperting laser tag sensors on the tank? You could then build a suitable shell around the laser tag "gun" to make a panzershrek ![]()
Perhaps you could then rig up some maroons to go up when the tank has taken a suitable hit? You would definatly hear those go off i guarentee
Having a dedicated Anti tank weapon is surely a better idea than having everyone shower the tank in plastic.
On a boring health and safety note as well; while the push button idea sounds cool, i could easily see people getting hurt trying to hit the button. A run over foot or something :S
Excellent work though, very inspiring.

Looking good mate (i'm stil curious as to WTF 'Royal Commandos' are in the game? )
Peppered the chepa german optionis as 222 body kit for landrover or a kubelwagon conversion to a volkswagon 181 'thing'

Meh... I'm still getting the game though! I'm all for supporting the production of games with WW2 brits in them... and I'll just laugh at the mistakes.
BTW, there's a combined "GOLD" version coming out later this month with both the Brit and US versions of the game... and its cheaper than the single game at £17.99 from amazon. ![]()

Thanks for coming over to the forum to say hi!
You are more than welcome to come and take a look at the tank if you wish. I am in Aintree so if you have an excuse to bring the family out this way to go to Southport for the day etc yes please drop in.
I will PM you now anyway to give you more info.
Thanks everyone else as well!
Yes Gadge I have been looking at a few statements about that game, one of them is that they are to be used in Arnhem Operation Market Garden ![]()

Thanks yes I take your points and I have been thinking along similar lines, maybe smoke to signify it's hit all these things can be fitted as time goes bye.
Some of the others have suggested laser tag systems like the Ausi Sherman on Utube.
I have been meaning to look over the Alpha site some time.
That makes 3 Welsh on here now ![]()
Maybe they are after me for saying they are aliens Gadge

Well I decided the 40mm moscart idea was not worth it in the end so I have modified the set up as a simulator and I use hydroxy gas from a tub of water. It is the same water cell I will be fitting on my cars eventually.
Here are some video links.

And this video shows how I made the flash back supressor.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9e0ig63Q7HA
It works quite well it draws about 6 or 7 amps and you can fire one big bang per min or not so big as in the second shot about 30 seconds.
Here is a picture in the turret today after I have made a few changes to the simulator.
One thing I have realised is the spark plug should be on the top not on an angle as it is, so I may move it.
I have fitted a grip and trigger button as well.
All it needs is a 555 timer CCT to pulse the igniter every 30 to 60 seconds with a 3 second pulse at 1.5 volts, this would then enable you to drive around and the gun would fire on auto.
The good thing about this is you only make the gas you use as you drive you don't carry dangerous gas tanks like other gun simulators.
Also there is no need for valve gear that can fail.
